Colour: Dun with snowflake appaloosa markings (& star on forehead), Ee Aa Dd Lplp

Age: 7 yrs

Personality: Coruscate (Corrie) is gentle in nature and gets on well with horses and humans alike, tending to take on a submissive role. When ridden, she is obedient and careful. The dressage arena is very much her comfort zone, and it is here that she is expected to shine the most. Her paces are good and she shows aptitude and flair. She is being trained for a career in eventing. She’s an able jumper, but sometime lacks enthusiasm. In order to excel in x-country she will have to build on her confidence, as she tends to feel a little timid outside the arena. That said, she rarely refuses a jump, as long as she has an assured rider that she trusts. She loves apples and is spooky around plastic bags and flapping materials.

Disciplines: Dressage, Show jumping & Cross country (in that order of aptitude/importance), 3 Day Eventing where possible.

Any further details: DHAS Coruscate is one of the first horses to move into the newly renovated Dalul H’Arra Stables, alongside DHAS Quixotic. She will be ridden primarily by Chrissie Ayre. Tess Althrop (owner and manager of the stables) intends for Corrie to train and compete at a high level. If she achieves success in eventing, she may be bred to DHAS Quixotic who (at this early stage) shows complimentary characteristics; we’d like to produce a foal with its dam’s hard working nature and flair for dressage and its sire’s bold personality and enthusiasm for the cross country course.

A note on the artwork:
There were no references used in the making of this art, though I did a really helpful study of this: venomxbaby.deviantart.com/art/… (stock by venomxbaby) beforehand, which taught me so much about shading! And colouring duns, which is convenient. And I'd completely forgotten, but this started as a traditional sketch in my notebook, and since I don't have a scanner I took a pic with my iphone to get it on the computer. Of course I've spent hours on it since then so you can't tell how it started out. Either way, DevArt seems to have picked it up and is listing "camera data" about my iphone and when I took the photo!
